Scootiecat! Great to see you again! I can tell you how for XP, I don't have Vista so someone else will have to tell you if you have Vista if it is different. For XP, I am on cable, I go to: 1: Start 2: My network places 3: View Network places, (2nd selection from the top on the right) 4: Then I see my "Local Area Connection" (I have actually made a shortcut to this on my desktop so I do not have to go through steps 1-3 whenever I want to go offline) 5: Right click on the "Local Area Connection" and select disable Then when you want to go back on line, you just go back and undo it. I'll post this and go disable mine and come back with what it says to hook ya back up, I'm just afraid of losing my post if I do it at this point. Okeeeeeeeee Doke, I'm back I had to restart my puter for some reason, but after I did that all I had to do was double click on my Local Area Connection and it re-hooked me to the net. If I remmeber correctly, that's all I had to do when I used to do this all the time when I played speedies. I'll try it again and report back if there are any changes. Let me know how you are doing, again, great to see ya and here's a Karma Hug for ya!!

Hi Scootiecat ... Marilyn's way of doing it with XP will also work the same way with Vista (irregardless of whether it's 32 bit or 64 bit) OR since you have cable, most cable modems have a switch, either to shut it off or place it in standby mode, both of which will take you offline. If your cable modem has this type of switch it is alot easier to just click that switch, play offline, then click the switch back on or back out of standby mode which will put you back online within seconds on cable. I've never had to reboot when doing it even with Marilyn's way ... course we ALL know she has a totally different computer than anyone else in this world ... I hear hers even talks to her sometimes and she answers beware of the multi-personality Marilyn BTW I'm the rebel of this forum nice to see you around the board Hugz Connie
