Hello! I actually do not know a darn thing about making tilesets. The board was requested so here it is! Yahoooo! We will have to depend on the members for help with these since I have never made a tileset I won't be of much help. LOL So feel free to ask questions, and I'll try to hunt down a member that knows about tilesets to answer your questions, if they don't beat me to it. Thanks for the suggestion!!

Marilyn you have it made - Madeline is here and she got me started on tilesets. So with her and Barb you can't go wrong.

Marilyn - do you want me to do a how to? - If yes - Duaine and Barb, please send added information on what you do that's different. I can correct as I go and then Marilyn will have the final say and post the instructions "up top".
e.g - Duaine - your sets always have white backgrounds - how do you do that?
Barb - your images are always so clear and crisp - how do you manage that?

Maddy! THANKS for the offer of help! It would be GREAT if you could do a "How To". I'm sure no one would do this, but this is a good place for me to say (for EVERYONES benefit): Unless you "authored" something at another forum, you cannot copy/paste the post/how to/instructions etc in this forum, or the other forum could complain to ProBoards as it is a violation of the TOS with ProBoards and ProBoards could shut us down. Like I said, I'm sure no one was going to do that, but thought I should say something so everyone would know and avoid any problems to keep this place POSITIVE and HAPPY Thanks so much for EVERYTHING!

Marilyn, I am so glad you mentioned not copying or pasting information. I like you was sure no one would copy others information, BUT you can't ASS-U-ME these type of things. Happy times to all.

Madeline ~ I am not certain what you are refering to when you ask "Duaine - your sets always have white backgrounds - how do you do that?". I must confess that I am not sure what you are refering. If I figure it ourt or you clear it up for me I will do my best to explain it.

And I don't really do anything different other then trying to find things close to the size of what the tileset needs to be..but will be happy to help you otherwise...think the cropping and sizing have alot to do with the clearness of the pic ;D ;D or I have found that to be true, if it doesn't look right keep trying until it does

To make tilesets Step 1 The Basics - you need: - (a) Downloads: - irfanview, or similar, for resizing, manipulating, enhancing images http://www.irfanview.com./ (b) Registered Accounts : - esnips - www.esnips.comphotobucket - photobucket.com/These are all free.

There is a very useful support forum en.irfanview-forum.de/vb/Don't forget to download the plugins as well - you need those for handling some file types

Step 2
Think of a theme for your tileset

Step 3
Collect images - easiest way is to search google
You need a minimum of 36 images - MTE tilesets all comprise 36 tiles. However, it is a good idea to collect more than 36. I collect about 50 and keep or discard at the resizing stage.
Save each image to My pictures or wherever you store your images.
I organise my folders into Main Folder: - Tiles
Sub Folders:- Tilesets Tile collages
I have a zipped folder for completed/shared sets.
When you search google try different approaches.
e.g. - I just did a rainbow set. First I just did google/images.
Then I typed in rainbows photos and checked out the different websites. Always look to see if there's a photobucket or flickr site in the results.
Then I tried rainbow/flowers, rainbow/fish, rainbow/art/posters/wallpapers/paintings.
