BT -- been away for several days, not by choice but that's another story LOL ... Am SOOOO glad that you found that BUP I know it's a bummer to have to re-click from 85*s back to 89* but main thing is you're back and got it running without having to completely re-start with a new name Karma hug to ya cuz you've stuck with getting things sorted out and YOU DID IT!! I recently got Mr. GP to 90 stars. I had 89 stars when I started playing offline. I played offline but did not upload. Suddenly a screen popped up congratulating me, I was a NEWBIE. I closed the game and got back on the Internet, then opened the game and checked my ranking. What a relief!!! Still a RLP, but when I clicked on 'my times' I showed up as a Newbie. I was a RLP on the Global Time list though and that's what counts and Mr. GP had his 90 stars. How could the points be counted if I wasn't online? As I stated in an earlier post, my last player, *Katie*, was at 89 stars and was playing offline when a pop-up told me I had so many more points to go before I became a Newbie. I did not get a warning this time. I was using Windows XP before and I have Vista now. I use the Oberon version 1.2 of the game. Would the different versions of Windows have anything to do with getting a warning with one player and not another? I've messaged Fiona about this but thought I would also post it here to see if anyone else has had this happen to them. When I click on find player and put in Mr. GP, he is still a RLP, not a Newbie as happened to Fiona. The only time he shows up as a Newbie is in the 'my times' list. That's not a big deal. I'm just curious as to why I went from 89 stars to 90 stars while playing offline and why I got a pop-up telling me that I needed so many more points to become a Newbie with one player and not another.

Katie i been thinkn lots about this & I know wen me *Spazza & Spazzazz players crossed over i was offline - i think it congradulated me as it would when ya first start playing the game & start moving up the animal ranks because yr crossing over from RLP to Newbie - it just changed over to Newbie when id gotten as far into the 90s as i was guna get - i would imagine this is what happened to Karen at the time when she fell off the 90* board only she probably would have been online - Marilyn has said before about how ya dont actually fall off anymore - somthings been done to the game to stop that which will probably be why i appear as Newbie in the game but not online. If i look up me Spazzazz player under me players in me game it shows im a Newbie but if i wait a few secs the graphic changes back to RLP - iv still got numerous points to run up on that player to find out what actually happens when it ticks over to the rat again - im only guna run it up coz i want to know but its a dreary & monotonous way to play because ya do feel like ya getting nowhere I guess the change over fron RLP to Newbie is pretty much the same as ya move up the ranks with a new player offline - we know those ranks are changing over by the amount of points to play to get it there - but with RLP ya dont get how many points ya need to get each star but we know by playing the phenomonal amount of points to get each 1 that we will get it - we just dont see it until we log the points up with the server One way ya could work out wether yr due to cross over from RLP to Newbie is by the kbs of yr players file - for me i need to run up anywhere between 12-13kbs per star - when i hit the beginning of 89* i know i have to play between 12-13kbs to hit 90* but once ya hit 90* there is no way of knowing how many kbs get played before the game reaches its peak of points when it changes to Newbie unless ya check ya players file as soon as those kbs have been run up to the beginning of the 90* mark - & rechecked them again when the game changes ya over to Newbie - its only this way ya would have a ruff idea of the kb diff its taken ya to get from 90* to Newbie - but then everybodys game is different - i know with me Bfg 1.3 version it takes me around 14kb per star - so yd have to experiment with it to find out how many kbs it involves LOL hope this all makes sense & helps to answer yr question - it does to me Fi
