Hi Marilyn, Yes it can be done - those of us who are already launching etc know how to sort our players out to keep them going so no prob there Because you havnt yet been in the game this is what you need to do - Double check that the player files have been backed up i know i dont need to be telling you that but double check anyway Go offline & open yr game - check the los - if theyv been played - exit & check the pointsmap file - if it is 2bytes - the lo pts have already been pulled by the server If its higher than this - you need to go online & let the server pull the points - (dont do anything else in there) - when done exit the game but do not open it Back up the player folder (keep this as a seperate backup to yr usual 1 for now - you need to test the pointsmap before you overwrite yr usual backup with it) Now put an unplayed lo file in your game - go offline & open yr game If the points are as they should be - all is ok - close the game (you can now overwrite yr usual backup with this backup BUT dont delete it yet) I call this an Active player because its a working player If the points are all 500 the pointsmap is down - exit the game & etha replace the pointsmap with a COPY of the pointsmap from the backup OR delete the pointsmap & reopen the game - los should appear at full value - Exit the game & you can now backup yr usual backup Now you need to test the pointsmap file online - Put the 'my' file from the backup into yr game & go online - Once you are online pull an lo from the launchscreen - if the points on this lo are as they should be - then so far so good - if it has dropped to 500 exit the game - & you can etha - copy & paste the pointsmap from yr backup into yr game OR delete the pointsmap file (it will create a new 1 when you reopen the game) - having done etha option - Reopen yr game - the lo you pulled from the launchscreen should now be showing its normal value - **Now make, share & bump 1 lo - again if the points are as they shoild be all is good - but if the points drop to 500 - that is not a good sign - Exit the game Marilyn do the above 1st & post back so we know where you at & what yr able to do - this point ** is the most important - as long as you able to bump without it affecting the points you will be ok - thr are just some things that need doing from this point on to keep it that way Fi

Oh, my goodness, I hope not!!! Big T, I am so sorry to hear about your problem. I know what it's like to delete a player, but I was only a Lightening Rooster. I tried a system restore, but for some reason it didn't work. I had to download the game again and start over.
I now keep several backups. If I loose the player I'm using at the moment, I may loose a few points, but I will still have a working player. Professor Fiona may be able to help you. She's been working overtime helping us beat the newest threat to our sanity, the 500 point layouts. I know it won't help get your player back, but here's a karma for you. Wishing you all the best.

Hi BT A system restore should work. When we used to actually fall OFF the list if we over clicked once we got to 90 stars, Nana K who is at the top of the star list actually fell OFF of the list. OMG what a panic we were in So she did a system restore and got her spot back. BFG has since fixed the falling off of the star list issue, you now just turn back into a "newbie" instead of maintaining your RLP status, but at least you are still on the star list. So I would definitely give the system restore a try, it worked for Nana K. Good luck and let us know how you do. (This of course was before Vista and the BFG fire) I'm sorry it did not work for you Ms Katie. This is why (you KNOW I can't help myself) with EVERY STAR I get, I zip & save that player file, label it with the player name and # of stars AND I email the player file to myself, so for each player that has hit 90 stars, I have 90 player files, I guess I could toss the early ones now tho. ;D Karma Hug to you for your troubles.

Big T, you may feel like a dummy, but you're not. I think most of us, even if we won't admit it, has done, and will do, things that make us feel stupid. I wasn't aware that AVG could and would treat my game as if it were a virus. They had gotten along so well when I first got the game. But I guess the latest AVG upgrades didn't like MTE and considered it a virus. So I panicked and deleted my game. I think I deleted everything in my trash can. If I hadn't, I could have restored the player with no problem, after I found out it wasn't infected. I couldn't even redownload the game until after I uninstalled AVG. This was some time before I knew about saving my player file. At that point, I didn't know there was a community (and a back-up-nag ) that came along with MTE. Come to think of it, I didn't know a lot of things about MTE ;D I got a new computer recently and decided to give AVG another try. So I backed up my player and downloaded AVG. I'm happy to report, both are residing well together again. I do so hope you can get your player back Big T. Marilyn, I think it is safe to delete a few of those player files.

Hi e1, just wonderin if ne1 knows how to get my player back. I accidentally deleted my backup, & now my player is stuck at 89*. It has turned over to a newbie & doesnt seem to be pushing any points. Will a system restore bring it back, or am I 4ever doomed to be 89 4ever Hi BT If yr players turned over to Newbie theres nothing ya can do - its gone as high as its going to get - even if you had yr backup its probably unlikely to change anything - once yr player comes to a standstill its not going to budge - struck the same thing with me Spazzazz player - wanted to push it up closer to me other players - its a Newbie & i think iv played pretty much half of the points needed to get to the rat & it hasnt even budged 1 more placing - (having said that - 1 day i am going to keep playing until that player is about to cross over to the rat - am just interested to see what will happen) the game is so unpredictable at the mo - somthing ya could try - & i have no idea if this will work or not to get ya to hit the 90 - try other pointsmaps in it ( use copies of pointsmaps only) copy them from any playing folder yv got wether yv played thm or not - take thm online & see wot happens - its a long shot & it may do nothing but at least ya know yv tried it After thought - BT after trying the pointsmaps - when you exit the game check that the server has pulled the points - if it has the pointsmap should be 2bytes - if it hasnt pulled them go back in till it does - gota try everything & double check to make sure Fi
